Board Member
Rachel is a champion in the world of Pittsburgh healthcare, where her focus is supporting families undergoing the demanding transplant process. A registered nurse, Rachel is a transplant case manager at Cigna Healthcare. Before that, she spent 10 years as a pediatric transplant nurse at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, caring for countless children from all over the world. Their church moms’ group is where Rachel and Melissa met and bonded over their shared passion for community – Melissa founded the group, and Rachel now runs it. Having seen through her work the difference that nonprofits make for families in crisis, Rachel gladly accepted Melissa’s invitation to serve on the Blessed Home Project’s board. She looks forward to helping struggling families in the Pittsburgh West region by “doing good works, showing goodwill, and spreading the Good News.” Rachel lives in Kennedy Township with her husband, two children, and a misbehaving rescue cat named Gizmo.
