Back to School Bash with 4:12 Foundation

Back to School!! Say what?! What happened to summer?? August always feels like it sneaks up on us, doesn’t it? Well, we got to face reality and get those kids ready to go back to school for the best year yet!

We have teamed up with our partner, 4:12 Foundation to host a Back to School Bash for our community as a way to give back, beyond what we usually do. Our staff and their crew meshed so well together in the planning process, that it wasn’t even stressful to put together! We worked together with all of our connections & resources to make this event awesome!

So awesome that we had over 500 people register & we were concerned that if it grew too big, we wouldn’t have enough backpacks or supplies for all the kids. We decided to close registration the night before and send out a communication that we can only provide backpacks to the first 200 kids. We all have such generous hearts to want to help everyone, so we felt bad thinking there may be kids who come & don’t receive.

The day of the event, people were lined out the door 30 minutes before it started! We had everything in place for these families to not only receive supplies for their kids, but to have a fun afternoon that wouldn’t cost them anything. With the help of our sponsors, we provided Kona Ice for every child, crafts, face painting, bounce houses, games, prizes and backpacks.

We hand picked vendors to line the room & share about their organization or services, while also give out school supplies. We had B & A Entertainment playing family friendly music, Rise Above Sports running games on the turf, and Allegheny Muscle Therapy giving free chair massages. Everyone who came thanked us for putting on such a nice event for the community, free of charge. We are already planning one for 2025 and it will be even better!
